There has always been a certain melancholy in my life which I try to show through my paintings.  I, too, feel joy and contentment in the bright, sunny, warm days of summer but it is often the somber mood of stormy weather or the long shadows of a setting sun cast through the orchard that catches my imagination and causes me to reflect on why I paint and what mood I want to portray.

If you love the Pacific Northwest, as I do, you will recognize the moods in my work.
